Conference and Workshops focusing on downstream oil in Africa
The 2010 ARA Week will take place between 8-12 March, at the Westin Grand Hotel, in Cape Town.
Building on previous years’ successes, the ARA is expecting more than 300 participants from many different parts of the oil and banking sectors to come to meet in one place the key players of the African downstream oil industry.
One change in 2010 is that the ARA has modified its constitution to give a larger say to non-refiners such as independent marketing, storage and distribution companies as well as individual country’s government regulatory agencies, who can join the Association and even be elected to the Association’s Executive Committee. Consequently, more time will be dedicated to the needs of the non-refiner during the 2010 ARA Week.
Sponsors play a significant part in the conference programme and some sponsorship packages are still available.
The second half of the week is dedicated to the CITAC, ARA consultant's, downstream oil workshops where topical subjects are debated in an inter-active environment with experts from the various key sectors of the downstream sector. In 2010, it can be anticipated that banks and financing will be a key subject, as will the need for operational excellence in the African downstream across such varied subjects as shipping, trading operations, recruitment and training, refinery technology and product blending.
